TTD's special darshan page lists three categories. Carry the original document for the category you booked; the name and details should match your booking.
| Category | Who qualifies | Document |
|---|---|---|
| Senior citizens | Must have completed 65 years of age | Aadhaar |
| Differently abled | Persons with a disability (no age limit is listed) | Differently abled certificate issued by the State or Central Government |
| Medical cases | Kidney transplant, open heart surgery, dialysis, liver transplant, brain surgery, cancer, or spine surgery (unable to walk) | Valid medical certificate from the treating surgeon or specialist |
"Completed 65 years" means you must already be 65 on the darshan date. TTD's page does not list other conditions; if your situation is not listed, ask TTD on 155257 before booking.
TTD publishes a schedule each month for darshan, seva and room quotas about three months ahead. For example, its 17 October 2026 notice released the January 2027 quota for senior citizens, differently abled and chronically ill devotees at 3 PM on 23 October 2026. The release day has usually been around the 23rd, but use the dated notice for your month rather than assuming.
Sign in to the TTD portal a few minutes before release and choose the "Differently Abled / Sr. Citizen / Medical Cases" option. TTD's page lists a quota of 1,000 per day, and slots are often taken quickly.
Use the name and number from the Aadhaar, disability certificate or medical certificate you will carry. Add your spouse only if they are travelling with you.
Download or print the confirmation and keep it with the original documents. Check TTD News close to your date for any suspension.
TTD warns against fake websites and middlemen . It does not sell this darshan through agents, and anyone asking for money for it can be reported on the toll-free number 155257.
In its 5 October 2025 notice , TTD said senior citizens and differently abled devotees are allowed for darshan at 3 PM every day through the Senior Citizen/PHC line next to the Tirumala Nambi Temple. TTD's own special darshan page lists the timing as Monday to Saturday, 3:00 PM. Because the two differ, follow the date, time and entry point printed on your ticket.
Older notices mention a 10 AM slot. TTD has since moved this darshan to the afternoon, so do not rely on older guides or videos for the timing.
For all three categories, TTD's page says "Only Spouse is allowed." Sons, daughters, grandchildren or helpers cannot enter through this line as escorts, even if the devotee needs help walking.
If the family is travelling together, book the others through another category, such as ₹300 Special Entry Darshan, and agree a meeting point after darshan. Allow extra time, since the two queues may finish at different times.
TTD regularly cancels special darshan categories, including senior citizens and differently abled devotees, on its busiest days. Recent examples:
Expect the same around Vaikunta Ekadasi each year, and check TTD's notice for that season before booking travel. The festival calendar lists confirmed dates.
Travel to Tirumala by bus, taxi or car on the ghat road rather than the footpath. TTD describes the road and walking routes . Reach the hill well before 3 PM, allowing for traffic and security checks.
Follow TTD's dress code : dhoti or pyjama with upper cloth for men, and saree, half-saree, or churidar with dupatta for women.
Phones and bags are not allowed inside. Use TTD's free luggage and phone deposit counters and keep the receipt. Carry any medicines you need in a small pouch and ask staff at the line if you are unsure.
TTD's Venkatadri app maps entry points, help desks and buses on the hill. TTD staff at help desks can direct you to the Senior Citizen/PHC line.
A timed ticket booked on the TTD portal. Whole families can book together, but the queue involves more standing and walking.
Available with a donation to the Srivani Trust ; its quota is released on the same day as the senior citizen quota.
Free general darshan. Waits can be very long and are often hard for elderly devotees.
Our darshan guide compares every option, and the trip planner has a senior-friendly plan with no climbing.
Check four things for your date: that the quota is open and your booking is confirmed, that the category is not suspended, the time and entry point on your ticket, and that you have the original document. Use the TTD portal and dated TTD News notices, or call TTD on 155257.
